Multiplying and Dividing Integers Worksheets
Rules When Multiplying and Dividing with Negative Numbers - Multiplication and division can be difficult operations to learn at first. However, they can be mastered if one keeps on practicing their sums. Just like positive numbers, negative numbers can also be divided or multiplied in the pretty same fashion. There are different methods of multiplying or dividing two numbers. Two numbers can be divided through the long division or short division methods, or they can be simply divided in a fractional form through the factorization method. While multiplying or dividing two negative numbers, one thing that must be kept in mind is that there are certain rules while multiplying or dividing the signs of the numbers. While dividing two negative numbers, both the similar signs cancel each other, and the answer bears a positive sign. However, in case of a negative and a positive number, the negative sign dominates the answer. Similarly, in the case of multiplication, two negative numbers, after being multiplied, bear a positive answer. However, in case a positive and a negative number get multiplied by each other, then the answer holds a negative sign.

There is only one case in which division is not allowed...
Do you know when that is? When you are dividing a number by 0 - why? Since division is the opposite of multiplication, and when you multiply a number by 0 the answer is 0, it would be impossible to divide a number by 0 .
